Jasmar Organization Project Review Meeting

As part of the continuous efforts by Jasmar Organization for Human Security to develop and improve performance in accordance with recognized standards, while also ensuring a supportive environment to achieve the highest levels of efficiency and effectiveness—and with the participation of the General Director of Jasmar Organization in Sudan—a consultative meeting was held in Kassala State. The meeting brought together executive directors and program and project managers from several of the organization’s state offices, and took place from January 22–23, 2025. This meeting comes at a time when the country is facing a number of challenges, which reinforces and strengthens the role of the voluntary and humanitarian sector, with a focus on several key areas and programs based on current needs. The meeting aims to: • Enhance the efficiency of program performance through effective resource management under the current circumstances.

Session on enhancing the skills of adolescents in reducing risks, combating violence, and developing personal safety plans

JASMAR Human Security Organization, in partnership with the Compacting Violence Against Women Unit CVAW , has conducted session on enhancing the skills of adolescents in reducing risks, combating violence, and developing personal safety plans. This session took place on Wednesday, 6/12/2023, as part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign for the year 2023. The session targeted 35 young girls in the safe learning space implemented by Jasmar in collaboration with UNICEF at the Rabia Al-Adawiya Center in Kosti locality.

Empowering Women and Easing War Impact: Entrepreneurship Club's Entertaining Program in Khashm Al Qirbah, Kassala:

An entertaining program for local guests was organized to alleviate the impact of war by the Women Entrepreneurship Club in the locality of Khashm Al Qirbah, in coordination with JASMAR Humanitarian Security Organization in Kassala. This initiative is part of the Economic Opportunities and Leadership project, funded by the European Union and the Italian Agency through Mercy Corps. The program, attended by representatives of the local executive director, social affairs director, and the Italian Agency, featured various activities supporting and empowering women, highlighting their economic roles. The event included entertainment segments, psychological support, and a children's corner with activities such as drawing, coloring, and life skills. It's worth mentioning that the club was formed through the project in the localities of Kassala and Khashm Al Qirbah.

Mine Risk Awareness in South Kordofan State - Jasmar Human Security Organization Initiative

A voluntary initiative by Jarmar Security Organization in South Kordofan State, Kaduli District, to raise awareness of the dangers of unexploded mines and controls information about dangerous areas and mine victims. This partnership focuses on the many different forms of mines and awareness of the risks they involve.

A training workshop for religious leaders regarding women’s economic empowerment

The training workshop for a number of local religious leaders in the states of Kassala and the Red Sea on women's economic empowerment, combating discrimination in social norms, and gender-based violence concluded. This was done through the Economic Opportunities and Leadership project, which includes professional skills training, funded by the European Union and the Italian Agency through the organization Mercy Corps. The closing of the workshop was attended by the director of the JASMAR office in Kassala, Ms. Ghada Ahmed Bataran, and the program director of the organization, along with the participation of a media group that had previously been trained through the project. This comes as part of supporting, enhancing, and highlighting the importance of strengthening the role of women in the community.

The journey of training gifted children

In the third stage of the journey of training gifted children, Jasmar Organization for Human Security, through the Social Behaviour Change project implemented by it and Funded by UNICEF - a free platform - prepared for children in the friendly space at Al-Mirghaniyah Al-Sharqiya School, so that the children could showcase their artistic abilities, talk about issues that arouse their interest, and participate in expressing their voices. Through the arts, starting with theatre, singing, and free drawing. The ceremony was attended by an honorable presence of children, parents, a delegation from the Ministry of Education, and a number of international and national organizations. The organization extends special thanks for the participation of the Director General of the Ministry of Education and Guidance, Kassala State, the Minister-designate,The children expressed their satisfaction and happiness with the training they underwent, and they performed beautiful artistic performances that represented them and the children. Their views on education issues and the importance of motivating positive behavior.

Community Protection and Community Support Project for IDPs and Host Communities

Community Protection and Support Initiative for IDPs and Host Communities As part of the Community Protection and Support Project for IDPs and Host Communities, Gismar Organization - Red Sea Office, in collaboration with the Department of Religious Affairs and with support from the UNHCR, organized a training workshop for Imams, preachers, and female preachers in Port Sudan Locality. The training took place from November 3 to 7, 2024. The closing ceremony was attended by Sheikh Mohamed Anwar Ahmed, Director of the Department of Religious Affairs, Ms. Rania Mohamed from UNHCR, Mr. Musab Ismail, Director of the Red Sea Office, and Mr. Mohamed Othman from the Programs Department of Gismar Organization. The training focused on raising awareness and sharing information about human trafficking issues, equipping religious leaders with the knowledge and tools to contribute to combating this critical problem within their communities.

UNHCR SUDAN Site visit to 3 locations in White Nile State with JASMAR team:

#UNHCR team, with partner JASMAR, visited 3 community centers in White Nile. We're rehabilitating the centers to strengthen communities to act as first responders, promote peace & social cohesion while supporting effective delivery of protection & assistance to displaced people.
